Discovery of the majestic existence of Mongolian culture in the poetry of G.Mend-Ooyo.

Ya.Baatar (Dr., Prof.)

The poetry and works of G.Mend-Ooyo present the majestic existence of the human intellectual world, in particular the intellectual world of the Mongols. The poems provide a unity of high culture, poetic beauty, marvelous literary style and deep thought.

Characterized by its essence of seeking true purity, G. Mend-Ooyo's poetry depicts in words all precious customs, instinct and spiritual pleasure of the nomadic Mongols, on the background of their everyday lives and simple actions, conducted in harmony with the natural environment. The harmonization, color, and representation of G.Mend-Ooyo's poetry are revealed by the gentleness and emotion of the heart, creating a quiet and graceful world before the reader, penetrating the heart.

G.Mend-Ooyo's poetry is not easy to everyone, but it is a valuable art expressing the sophisticated professional skills that bring the reader to a high level of thought, comprehension and artistry. Poets began to recognize the value of his works long before scholars did. Today, as light, commercial works suited to sedentary civilization dominate society and world literature, G.Mend-Ooyo continues to produce remarkable works of a high artistic calibre, conveying discoveries of the nature of the beautiful taste and thinking of the nomads.

In particular, his work Golden Hill is a sincere, transparent poem of the true nomads and a magical poetic work expressing the aspiration for the safeguard of the natural essence and spiritual immunity of humankind and of the Mongols, who are being polluted and drowned in the urbanized social civilization.

The poetry of G.Mend-Ooyo is an experience of the creative search - an intellectual, yet distinctively Mongolian, and indeed very oriental poetry which painfully recognizes the boundaries of tradition and innovation. It is impossible to speak of traditional Mongolian poetry, thinking and skills, radiant with the Eastern light, without considering the poetry of G.Mend-Ooyo.
